A non-technical CEO orchestrated 49 running daemons and 34 containers
into a unified Sovereign Intelligence platform—
the kind of visual workflow orchestration Node-RED was born for.

The Origin

24,000

children under 5 die every day—before we take our morning shower—simply from lack of food and water.

"Carter, what are you going to do about that?" — The question on a whiteboard, 15 years ago, that started everything

That question became a calling. Not guilt—purpose. Carter Hill realized the world has the resources to solve its problems. What we don't have is a system that connects needs with solutions.

Day 7 was conceived that day. A Public Benefit Corporation with a mission: "Delivering exceeding value void of all exploitation to create an abundant world of human flourishing."

For 15 years, the technology wasn't ready. Then came the breakthrough: AI + visual workflow orchestration.

"The FlowFuse Assistant is an AI-powered tool designed to enhance the Node-RED editor by assisting users in generating code for Function nodes based on their descriptions—accelerating application development."

The Predictions

"We're going to see one-person companies with billion-dollar valuations pretty soon." — Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI
"Software is eating the world, but low-code and visual programming are eating software." — Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA
"We haven't seen the best or the craziest of what AI is going to be able to do." — Mark Cuban

What happens when a non-coder orchestrates 17 technologies, 49 daemons, and 34 containers into a unified system?

Why Node-RED Matters to This Story

IBM created Node-RED with a radical vision: make complex system integration accessible to everyone. Wire hardware, APIs, and online services together—visually.

That vision aligns perfectly with what we built. Truth AI is exactly the kind of system that Node-RED was designed to orchestrate:

Events RedPanda 49 Daemons 5 Databases AI Models Actions

Node-RED is the visual interface this system was designed for.

The Technology Ecosystem

17+ technologies orchestrated into a unified Sovereign Intelligence platform:

Neo4j
Knowledge Graph
Weaviate
Vector AI
Redis
Real-time Cache
PostgreSQL
Relational
YugabyteDB
Distributed SQL
RedPanda
Event Streaming
H2O.ai
AutoML
Prometheus

Grafana
Dashboards
FastAPI
REST APIs
Docker
Containers

Each connection is an opportunity for Node-RED flows.

The 1000-Year Vision

Day 7 isn't building a product. We're building infrastructure for human flourishing—designed to last centuries.

🕊 Freedom Through Sovereignty

Sovereign Intelligence means you own your AI. Your data stays yours. Your models serve you. No corporate surveillance. No exploitation.

🌊 Abundance Through Connection

When needs find solutions, abundance emerges. Node-RED's philosophy of wiring things together is exactly how we connect global resources to global needs.

🌸 Flourishing Through Simplicity

Visual workflows democratize complexity. A non-technical CEO orchestrated enterprise-scale systems. That's the power of making technology accessible.

By 2050: The 24,000 goes to zero.
Technology connecting needs to solutions—globally, automatically, perpetually.

The Partnership Opportunity

Node-RED started at IBM Emerging Technology Services. It's now an independent project under the OpenJS Foundation with millions of users worldwide.

This is a story that validates everything Node-RED stands for:

The ultimate Node-RED success story.

Community Showcase

Featured demonstration of enterprise-scale Node-RED orchestration at conferences, in documentation, and across the community.

Proof of what's possible.

IBM Heritage, Open Future IBM Origins

"Node-RED provides a browser-based editor that makes it easy to wire together flows using the wide range of nodes in the palette that can be deployed to its runtime in a single-click." — Node-RED Documentation

Node-RED was created by Nick O'Leary and Dave Conway-Jones at IBM Emerging Technology Services in 2013. Now part of the OpenJS Foundation, it powers IoT, automation, and AI orchestration worldwide.

Day 7 represents the next evolution: AI-native visual orchestration at enterprise scale.

Let's Wire the Future Together

I've built something that proves Node-RED's vision at an unprecedented scale. 49 daemons. 34 containers. 17 technologies. All orchestrated by someone who doesn't write code.

What I'm offering: A showcase that demonstrates Node-RED's power for AI orchestration.

What we'd build together: The definitive case study for visual AI workflow automation.

"Low-code is the future. Node-RED is leading it. Let's show the world what's possible."

Thank You, Node-RED

Thank you for building the visual workflow tool that makes integration visual. Thank you for proving that complex flows can be understood at a glance. Without Node-RED, connecting our systems would require more code. You built visual programming for the real world. We are deeply grateful.
