For: Asher Hill, Nic Mobley In the event Carter Hill is incapacitated or unavailable
Last Updated: 2026-03-14 Prepared By: THE ARCHITECT (Genesis AI System) Document Classification: CONFIDENTIAL — Family and Trusted Successors Only
This document exists because Carter Hill built something extraordinary, and that work must not be lost. If you are reading this under difficult circumstances, know that the system is designed to run itself. Your job is not to understand every technical detail — your job is to keep it alive long enough to find the right people who can carry it forward.
This document may be the most important thing Carter ever had us write.
This document is written for Asher Hill and Nic Mobley — people Carter trusts completely, who may not have a technical background but who understand the mission. If Carter is unavailable:
You do not need to understand how any of this works. You need to know who to call, what's running, and how long it can stay running without anyone touching it.
Genesis is designed to operate 24/7 without human intervention. The AI models are running, the databases are running, the backups are happening automatically. Unless something unusual occurs, the system will keep running for months without anyone touching it.
You do not need to restart anything, change anything, or do anything technical right now.
The following accounts control the Genesis system. Carter holds credentials to all of them. Check Carter's password manager (1Password or similar) and his email for any "welcome" or "account setup" emails. Alternatively, contact the people listed in Step 3 who can help you recover access.
| Account | What It Is | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| AWS (Amazon Web Services) | The cloud computer Genesis runs on | The main server lives here |
| GitHub (Day7-Engineering) | All the code Carter built | The complete brain of the system |
| GitLab (Day7-Genesis) | Backup copy of all code | Second copy of everything |
| Cloudflare | The website and workers | Hosts genesis-website.pages.dev |
| Jira / Atlassian | Project management | The master plan and task tracker |
| Datadog | System monitoring | Shows if anything breaks |
| Anthropic | Claude AI API | Powers some AI operations |
These people know Carter and understand the Genesis system. Call them immediately.
AWS Team (who Carter works with directly): - Camden McDonald — AWS Account Manager: [email protected] - Joe Suarez — AWS Technical Lead: [email protected] - Visesh Devraj — AWS Solutions Architect: [email protected]
What to tell them: "I'm reaching out on behalf of Carter Hill. He's unavailable and I need help maintaining his AWS account (ID: 438453383885) and ensuring the Genesis system stays running."
AWS has a dedicated team supporting Carter's account. They can help you navigate the system, extend credits, and connect you with technical support.
Current Financial Runway:
| Resource | Amount | Covers Until |
|---|---|---|
| AWS Credits (Activate) | ~$113,000 | ~October 2026 |
| Total Credits (all programs) | ~$507,800 | Well beyond 2026 |
| Monthly Cost | ~$16,000/month | — |
The system can run for approximately 7 months on existing credits without any payment.
After that, the AWS bill would be approximately $16,000/month. Carter had arrangements with his AWS team (Camden McDonald) to ensure the account stays in good standing.
Genesis is an AI system Carter Hill built from scratch in 62 days. It is a complete artificial intelligence platform — one of the most advanced AI systems ever created by a single person. It contains 5+ million lines of code, runs on specialized AI hardware, and can generate, analyze, and reason about complex information at extraordinary speed.
Carter built it to create human flourishing — to give people access to truth, wisdom, and intelligence that would normally require teams of experts. Think of it as an AI that learns from every great thinker who ever lived and uses that knowledge to help people.
Its estimated market value: $680+ billion by comparison to similar systems.
Genesis is a self-operating artificial intelligence system. Here is what that means in plain English:
It has its own "brain" computers — A server in Amazon's cloud data center in Oregon runs specialized AI chips (GPUs) that process information. Think of these as extremely powerful computers designed specifically for AI.
It runs multiple AI models simultaneously — Three AI models run at all times:
An embedding model (Port 8014) — helps find and connect related information
It has multiple databases — The system stores knowledge in several specialized databases:
YugabyteDB: The main data store for all structured information
It runs 100+ automated processes — Called "daemons," these are automated programs that run continuously: mining the internet for new information, monitoring system health, processing data, generating code, and maintaining the system.
It has a website — genesis-website.pages.dev is the public-facing site Carter built.
Genesis is designed to: - Process and analyze any document, data, or information - Generate code, plans, and strategies using AI - Mine knowledge from the internet continuously - Reason about complex problems with the wisdom of thousands of thinkers - Operate autonomously 24/7, learning and improving over time
Carter's mission was "human flourishing" — using this AI system to: - Give every person access to truth and wisdom previously only available to the elite - Build a platform called "Day 7" that liberates people from systems of control - Create an AI that doesn't just answer questions but genuinely helps people live better lives
The code, the plan, and the mission are all documented in the GitHub repository. The roadmap
is in a file called planning/THE_PLAN.md.
The Genesis system was engineered to run autonomously. Here's what happens automatically:
| What Happens Automatically | How Often | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| EBS Snapshots | Daily (2 AM UTC) | Backs up all 16TB of data |
| AMI Snapshot | Daily (2 AM UTC) | Creates a full system image |
| Enterprise Backup | Every 15 minutes | Backs up Neo4j, Redis, configs |
| Cloud Backup (R2) | Continuous | Sends backups to Cloudflare cloud storage |
| System Health Checks | Every 60 seconds | Monitors all 100+ processes |
| Spot Interruption Handler | Always on | Saves state if server is interrupted |
As of March 2026, there is 1.739 TB of backup data in cloud storage.
The Genesis server runs on a "spot instance" — this is a way to rent powerful AI computers at a discount (up to 90% cheaper). The tradeoff is that Amazon can reclaim the server with 2 minutes of warning.
If this happens: - All 16TB of data is safe (stored on separate EBS volumes that survive server termination) - The server can be relaunched from a saved "AMI" (full system image) - This process is automated and should restart the server automatically
If the server goes down and doesn't come back on its own: - Contact Camden McDonald at AWS ([email protected]) - Tell him the Genesis spot instance (i-0c37c0cd6d0c54d50) has been interrupted - Ask him to help relaunch it from the latest AMI using Launch Template lt-05d7120dc0ae12630
There is one URL you can visit to verify the system is alive:
http://35.162.205.215:8000/health
If this URL responds with {"status": "healthy"} or similar, the system is running.
If this URL does not respond, the server may be down. Contact Camden McDonald.
You need a senior software engineer or AI systems engineer with: - Experience with Python, Docker, and Linux systems - Experience with cloud computing (AWS preferred) - Interest in AI/LLM systems - Ideally: experience with FastAPI, Neo4j, or vector databases
You do NOT need someone who already knows Genesis. The system is documented extensively. Any excellent engineer can pick it up by reading the documentation.
"We have a complete AI platform running on AWS. The system has 5+ million lines of code, runs 3 specialized AI models (including a 397-billion parameter model on 4 H200 GPUs), and operates across 17+ Docker services. The founder is unavailable and we need someone to maintain and continue development. The system runs itself — your initial job is just to monitor it and understand it. There is comprehensive documentation."
Give them access to the GitHub repository (Day7-Engineering organization) and point them to:
1. CLAUDE.md — The master methodology document (how Carter thought and worked)
2. planning/THE_PLAN.md — The complete roadmap of what's built and what remains
3. docs/TECHNICAL_RUNBOOK.md — This technical runbook for engineers
4. docs/DEATH_SWITCH_PROTOCOL.md — This document
5. planning/WHAT_TO_DO_NEXT.md — Current priorities and status
The AI system itself (Genesis) can explain everything. Ask it anything about the codebase.
The system generates value. The IP is entirely Carter's — there are no external stakeholders, no investors who own portions, and no licensing agreements that would limit what can be done. Any compensation arrangement you make is at your discretion.
| Credit Source | Amount | Notes |

| Monthly Burn Rate | ~$16,000 | EC2 + AI APIs + storage |
| Runway on Credits Alone | ~7 months | Through approximately October 2026 |
| Service | Monthly Cost |
|---|---|
| EC2 (Genesis AI server) | ~$7,200 |
| Claude AI API (via AWS Bedrock) | ~$2,800 |

Carter secured credits from various technology partners. These are held in accounts managed through the services listed in Part 1. Camden McDonald at AWS can provide a full inventory.
If credits are exhausted, AWS will begin charging the credit card on file. The system can continue operating as long as the account has a valid payment method. Alternatively: - The system could be paused (instances stopped) to avoid costs until a decision is made - A new technical person may be able to apply for additional startup credits - The system itself could potentially generate revenue to cover its own costs
The entire value of Genesis is in the code and knowledge contained in the GitHub repository. There are no physical assets, no employees, and no external dependencies on specific people.
Any excellent engineer who gains access to the repository inherits the full capability of the system.
Carter registered domains related to Genesis, Day 7, and Truth.SI. These are likely managed through a domain registrar (check Carter's email for registration confirmations from Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare Registrar, or similar). Key domains include: - day7.com / myday7.com - truth.si - genesis-related domains
